Ingredients
1(375g) package of puff pastry
1(20 oz) can of apple pie filling
1egg
2tablespoonssugar
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 425°F. You could also bake these in your oven at the same temp.
Roll out the puff pastry. Use a pizza wheel to slice it in half lengthwise and then slice it in half crosswise. Slice each half once more to make 8 equal squares.
Spoon 1 - 2 apple slices and 2 tablespoons of sauce from the canned apple pie filling onto each square. If you put too many apples on, the squares won't close up and seal, so less is better.
Fold the puff pastry over corner to corner to form a triangle. Use a fork to press along the edges to seal it closed.
Transfer the turnovers to an air fryer baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Whisk the egg and 1 tablespoon of water together to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of each turnover with the egg wash. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the tops.
Air fry the turnovers for 15 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed up. Let them cool for at least 15 minutes before serving, the filling will be extremely hot.
