Spicy blackened mahi mahi sandwiches topped with shredded lettuce and tomato and a spread of remoulade sauce make an easy dinner you can cook in under 10 minutes on the grill or in an air fryer.
Brush the fish fillets with the olive oil and then generously sprinkle both sides with the blackening seasoning. Set aside.
Grill the Mahi Mahi:
Preheat the grill to medium high. Place the mahi mahi on the grill and cook until lightly charred and just cooked through. You'll need about 4- 5 minutes per side. It should read 145°F with an instant probe thermometer at the thickest part of the fish fillet.
Cook the Mahi Mahi in an Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
Place the fish fillets in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 - 10 minutes or until cooked through. The fish should read 145°F with an instant probe thermometer at the thickest part of the fish.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Toast the brioche buns while the fish is cooking. This is easiest if you place them cut side up on a baking sheet and place them under your oven broiler for 2 minutes or until just toasted.
Place a fish fillet on the bottom half of a bun. Top the mahi with a tomato slice and some shredded lettuce. Spread the remoulade sauce over the top half of the bun and assemble the sandwich. Serve immediately.
