Baking this easy maple oatmeal bread in a bread machine takes 5 minutes of hands on time. This deliciously chewy loaf makes amazing breakfast toast but would be the perfect pick for a honeyed turkey or ham sandwich.

Ingredients
1 2/3cupsbuttermilk
1/2cuppure maple syrup
3tablespoonssoftened butterdiced
4cups(548 g) bread flour
1cuprolled oats
2teaspoonskosher salt
1tablespoonactive dry yeast
Instructions
Add the ingredients to the bread machine pan fitted with the paddle attachment in the order they are listed starting with the wet ingredients and ending with the dry ingredients on top. Add the buttermilk and maple syrup to the pan. Dice the softened butter and add it in. Spoon the bread flour on top and add the rolled oats. Sprinkle the kosher salt around the perimeter of the pan and dig a well with the back of the spoon in the center of the flour. Add the yeast in the well.
Place the bread pan in the bread maker and close the lid.
Select the 2-pound setting.
Select your desired darkness setting, I used Medium.
Select the Basic/White bread program and then press Start.
NOTE: The dough may appear very wet and sticky at the start of the mixing and kneading cycles but the oats will absorb the liquid as the dough rises and the bread bakes.
The bread machine will take about 3.5 hours to finish the baking cycle. Remove the baked bread from the pan and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
