If you're eating on our backyard patio, these are the cheeseburgers we're grilling up! Slightly seasoned with a hint of Dijon mustard in the patty keeps the beef burgers nice and juicy.
Place the ground beef in a large mixing bowl. Add the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Montreal steak seasoning. Gently combine the ingredients with two forks or your hands.
Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions. Pat them gently into patty shapes.
Grilling Instructions:
Preheat your grill so that it gets nice and hot before you try to cook the burgers. On our gas grill, we set the heat to about 450°F. Brush the grates to remove any residue from your last meal.
Grill the burgers for about 9 - 10 minutes for medium-well. Flip them over only once about half way through cooking. The burgers should register about 150°F with an instant read thermometer.
Air Fryer Instructions:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 4 - 5 minutes.
Add the burgers in a single layer with room around each one for air flow. Cook for 9 - 10 minutes, turning over halfway through. The burgers should register 150°F with an instant read thermometer.
Assemble the Cheeseburgers:
If you want to add cheese to your burger, we enjoy adding the provolone right as the burgers come off the grill or out of the air fryer. Since it melts so well, the heat from the meat is just enough to soften it. However, you could also add sliced cheese on top of the burgers and then cover the grill for 30 seconds - 1 minute to melt the cheese or let the air fryer melt it for a minute. This is a great option if you choose to use American or cheddar cheeses instead of the provolone.
